Aggies from Around the World

Texas A&M University is home to international students from 50+ different countries making up more than 8% of our student body. On a campus of 70,000+, that number adds up. Our International Aggies contribute to Texas A&M’s environment of diverse thinking and inclusive action.
We offer three types of enrollment to international prospective students:

What type of student am I?

An international transfer applicant:

is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (or applicant for permanent residency) AND
has not graduated from a Texas high school after three years of residence in Texas. (If this applies to you, please apply as a U.S. transfer applicant based on Senate Bill 1528.)
is an applicant seeking the attainment of a bachelor’s degree
has graduated from high-school or equivalent
has enrolled in a post-secondary institution, and has earned college credit after high school/secondary school graduation (during fall/spring semesters) and
is not eligible for readmission (has never enrolled at Texas A&M University as an undergraduate degree-seeking student).

International Graduate

What type of student am I?

You are an international graduate applicant if you:

are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (or applicant for permanent residency) AND
you have not graduated from a Texas high school after three years in residence in Texas (please review Senate Bill 1528) AND
hold a bachelor’s or professional degree (or equivalent)

Note: If you are currently enrolled as a degree-seeking graduate student or the break of enrollment between the two graduate programs at Texas A&M University will be less than a calendar year, you should submit a Letter of Intent or Petition to the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies.

International Student Services

International Student Services (ISS) handles the logistics of attending a university across the world so that you can focus on your education and college experience. You’ll find academic resources and information on health insurance, staying connected and more.

International Student Services issues a Certificate of Eligibility, I–20s for F–1 visa holders and DS-2019s for J-1 visa holders. ISS also provides information for international students about which immigration status is the most appropriate for them while attending Texas A&M.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I register for my classes?

New undergraduate students will register for their first semester classes at their New Student Conference. More information is available concerning requirements that must be met prior to registration. Additional information about the ISS check-in process can be found here.

New graduate students will register for their first semester classes after International Student Check-In with ISS. International Graduate Students should then meet with their graduate advisor for assistance in registering for classes.
