Financial Aid

An A&M education is an investment in your future at a value that far outweighs the cost. The Department of Student Financial Aid offers various options to fund your education and ultimately achieve your academic goals. The Department provides financial aid advising, debt management and outreach services to all prospective students and can assist you in planning for college costs through one-on-one counseling with a financial aid advisor.
Federal, state, institutional and private fund(s) used to assist eligible students in funding their education. Financial aid can be a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, waivers and student employment. Scholarships and grants are considered “free money.” Loans and student employment are considered self-help aid, and most loans require repayment when a student becomes enrolled less than half time or graduates. Student employment includes both work-study and part-time employment, either on- or off-campus.
More than 35,000 students (approximately 79%) receive some form of financial assistance. Students at Texas A&M University received more
than $420 million in financial assistance in 2005-2006 through scholarships, grants, loans, waivers, work-study and on-campus employment.
