How to Stay on Target

Junior Year of High School Checklist

  • Continue with extracurricular involvement and keep up with your activity log.
  • Take the October PSAT/NMSQT. This test determines eligibility for the National Merit, Achievement and Hispanic Competitions.
  • Attend Aggieland Saturday in February.
  • Schedule a campus visit. The Visitor Center will schedule your participation in a freshman admissions session, a visit with an academic department and a campus tour.
  • Register to take the SAT/ACT. Have scores sent directly to Texas A&M University (SAT Code: 6003, ACT Code: 4198)

Senior Year of High School Checklist

  • Check How to Apply for all admission requirements.
  • Complete the scholarship section of the Admissions Application to apply for Texas A&M scholarships by the deadline.
  • Application opens July 1.
    By the deadline, submit the following items:
    • your application, Essay Topics A and B, the application fee, SAT/ACT scores and official high school transcripts, and Essay Topic C for applicants in holistic review; and
    • a Permanent Resident Card, I-551 or SB 1528 Affidavit, if applicable.
  • Apply for outside scholarship opportunities.
  • After receiving an acknowledgment letter, use your Universal Identification Number (UIN) to activate a Texas A&M NetID at applicant.tamu.edu.
  • Check your application status online at applicant.tamu.edu.
  • Submit your FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov, available October 1 (Priority Date is March 15). Texas A&M’s school code is 003632.
  • Check your scholarships and financial aid status online at howdy.tamu.edu.
