National Scholar Day

Eligibility

We invite students to participate in National Scholar Day who have been recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist and/or National Hispanic Scholar.  Participants must be high school students who are graduating in 2018 from a recognized public high school, private high school, or homeschool.  If you did not receive an invitation to attend this program, please contact the National Scholar office at nationalscholar@tamu.edu.

Tentative Schedule

Location: Memorial Student Center, Room 2300B, unless otherwise noted

The schedule may be slightly modified depending on the program date. A final schedule will be sent to you at least one week prior to the date you have registered to attend.

For the November 13th program, the start time for the optional Northside residence hall tour will be 8 AM and check-in will begin at 9 AM. All other dates will start at the same time listed below.

The November 20th date is a luncheon only. The schedule below does not apply to this date. The luncheon will be from 12-1:30 PM. The format of the event is a luncheon only due to Aggieland Information Day taking place on the same day. INFODAY details and registration >

Parking

Please park in the University Center Garage (UCG), located at the corner of Houston St and Joe Routt Blvd (next door to Kyle Field and attached to the Koldus building). If the garage is full for some reason we would recommend parking in Cain Garage* which is located next to the Memorial Student Center (MSC). We will be able to validate your parking if you park in the University Center Garage. Please bring in to check-in with you the ticket that you pull at the entry gate to the garage.  
*If you park in any garage other than UCG, we will not be able to validate your parking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a school excuse note available the day of the program?
Yes, we will have school excuse notes printed on TAMU letterhead and available for pick up at check-in.

What is suggested to wear while attending NSD?
Comfortable clothing and shoes, preferably tennis shoes as you will be walking around campus.  This program will continue rain or shine, please check the weather beforehand.

What information do I need to provide at check-in?
Students will need to provide two forms for the program.

These forms will also be provided to you via email prior to attending and collected at check-in.

Can I attend NSD by myself?
If you are under the age of 18, you are required to have a legal parent/guardian attend the program with you.

Can I bring a guest?
Yes!  However, due to the space availability of the program we ask that participants bring no more than one adult guest to NSD so that we can allow more spaces for prospective National Scholars to attend.
