Special Services

You may request any of the following special services when you order an official transcript.

Issued to Student in a Sealed Envelope

The office that requested your transcript may require that it be issued to you in a sealed envelope and given to them with the seal unbroken. The transcript is placed in a letterhead envelope with the registrar’s signature imprinted across the sealed back flap. Opening the envelope will render the transcript invalid for many purposes such as admission to another college or university.

Hold for Grades/Hold for Degree Posting

You may request that your transcript order be delayed until grades and/or degrees for the current semester are recorded on the official transcripts. Requests with a hold for grades or hold for degree posting may be placed at any time during the current semester. If the semester has ended, checking “hold for grades” will delay production of your transcript until the end of the next semester.

Contact the Transcript Section of the Office of the Registrar at (979) 845-1066 or transcript@tamu.edu to find out when transcripts being held for grades or degrees will be mailed after completion of the semester.
NOTE: Transcripts are not produced while grade processing and posting is still in progress at the end of each semester.

Overnight Delivery

Transcripts may be sent by overnight delivery at your expense. The Office of the Registrar uses Federal Express for overnight delivery service. If you wish to use a different delivery service, you must make arrangements with that service in advance. Payment for express delivery must be made with a separate check or money order made payable to the delivery service or with a credit card.

Faxing a TAMU Transcript

Faxed transcripts are not considered official since there is no guarantee of confidentiality when received. We do not, therefore, recommend faxing transcripts. If you want your transcript faxed, the cost is $4 in addition to the cost of the transcript. You must provide a fax number for the intended transcript recipient. The Office of the Registrar is not responsible for incorrect fax numbers or for obtaining correct numbers.

Previous School Transcripts

You may request unofficial copies of transcripts from other colleges/universities if they were submitted to Texas A&M University and if they remain on file. Copies of transcripts from other schools will be released only to the student, not to a third party.

At this time, copies of transcripts from other schools may be made only in person, by mail or by fax. Online ordering of transcript copies is not available.

If you have completed course work at another college or university and wish to have that credit evaluated for use on a degree plan at Texas A&M University, you must provide an official transcript. Transcripts must be received directly from the issuing institution or in a sealed envelope.
