Student Records Policy for Texas A&M University
OFFICIAL NOTICE TO STUDENTS

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as Amended (FERPA), the following directory information may be made public unless the student desires to withhold any or all of this information. The student's name; local address; home address; e-mail address; local telephone number; home telephone number; dates of attendance; program of study (college, major, and campus); classification; previous educational agencies/institutions attended; degrees, honors and awards received; and participation in officially recognized activities and sports.

Currently enrolled students wishing to withhold any or all of the directory information items may do so by:

  • Go to https://myrecord.tamu.edu, click on Hold Directory Information and submitting a completed form.
  • Print the Hold the Directory Information form, complete and bring it to the Office of the Registrar, General Services Complex, 750 Agronomy Road, Suite 1501 College Station, TX 77843 or mail it to the Office of the Registrar, P.O. Box 30018, College Station, TX 77842-3018.
  • Visit the Office of the Registrar, General Services Complex, 750 Agronomy Road, Suite 1501 College Station, TX 77843 to complete and sign the Hold Directory Information form.

Information may be restricted at any time by using myrecord. The Office of the Registrar is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. excluding holidays.

Once information has been published, it cannot be removed from that publication. The campus directory is published once a year, and after it is compiled no information can be removed before the next printing.

Under FERPA, only currently enrolled students are eligible to restrict directory information. If a student restricts his/her directory information and leaves the University, the restriction continues until the student removes it by any of the same methods listed above.

Texas A&M University and the Office of the Registrar will exercise discretion in the release of all directory information.
