In The Know

What measures are in place for my child’s safety on campus?
Safety is a big concern for most parents and families of new college students. The faculty, staff and administration at Texas A&M University take this issue very seriously as well. Texas A&M’s University Police Department keeps current information about campus crime statistics and important issues in the community on their website, www.tamu.edu/upd.

You can also download the Annual Security Report produced in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) on the website at www.tamu.edu/upd. This report contains information regarding campus security and safety resources, policies and procedures for safety, reporting crimes and emergencies, crime awareness and prevention, and security of campus facilities and residence halls. It also includes figures for campus crime statistics for previous years. Please contact the University Police Department with any questions or concerns.

Texas A&M University has a strong institutional commitment to the principle of diversity in all areas. In that spirit, admission to Texas A&M University and any of its sponsored programs is open to all qualified individuals. Texas A&M does not discriminate on the basis of an individual’s disability and complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in its admissions, accessibility, treatment, and employment of students in its programs and activities.
